President of the Republic of Estonia Kersti Kaljulaid paid an official visit to Ukraine


President Kersti Kaljulaid paid an official visit to Ukraine on 22–24 May. During the visit, the Head of State met with the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, the Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman, the Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze and the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Andri Parubi.

On the second day of the visit, the President gave a presentation in Kyiv at the closing of a project supported by Estonia called "Women in Business", opened the Estonian-Ukrainian business seminar, met with the Head of Ukrainian National Anti-corruption Office Artem Sytnik, and also meet with the staff of the office, local entrepreneurs and representatives of the Ukrainian NGO.

On May 24, President Kaljulaid visited Eastern Ukraine to learn more about the situation in the conflict zone and the activities of humanitarian organizations. During the visit to the East, she had a meeting with Lieutenant General Serhiy Nayev, Commander of the Joint Forces Operation that controls the operation in Eastern Ukraine, the Governor of Donetsk oblast Pavlo Zhebrivskyi and Deputy Head of Luhansk Oblast Civil and Military Administration Yuri Klymenko.
